This could be quite possibly the most rediculous clip I have ever seen... Have you noticed that the company supposably doing this research never metioned there name? Did you look at the name who posted the video? I have never heard of any of these people and they have no credibility with me. Also did you notice that the when the gentlemen supposably talking to China on behave of GM was speaking English? I suspect that if GM wanted to make an honest effort in the Chinese market they would probably would of bought the dude some Roesseta Stone huh? There is no credibility here and if one thinks that GM shouldnt sell GM cars in China you're drunk.
A huge number of Americans buy their products from China, we need to even the playing field but taking some money out of their country, we absolultely MUST sell to everyone. If you think that we can just stay in North America, keep our borders shut, and survive you are out of your mind. We will be exporting a lot of things in the future... Coal will be a huge export in the future, we are talking hundrends of millions of tons. Before you say that exporting our energy is a bad thing, consider that if we don't thousands of coal miners will soon be losing their jobs. If you are offering to cover their unemployment then I'll send you my address. This is a far bigger issue than just a few cars as well, if we would just expand our horizon a little we would find that Hitachi sells their equipment in the US but oh yes Cat (and manufactors) does also... Look at their stock price, just a shade over $80 a share...
Before someone thinks that expanding markets a bad thing should take a look around and also remember to evaluate your sources. Don't believe progranda in the most literal sense...

It's a bullsh*t video intended to mislead and it's misled you. And it's already been posted. Don't be dumb and gullible. Before you decide you're done with GM, you might want to google "Ford in China" and "Chrysler in China" and see they're doing the same thing.....funny, no video about them. Not only American car companies building cars in China, for the enormous Chinese market. European and Japanese car companies are there too.

You can always ride a bicycle or a horse.

Wow- if this is true, im gonna invest in gm. We have been buyin honda's for 40 years, maybe more. GM has been building vehicles in canada for i dont know how long, furthermore gm, has, since the bailout unveiled the volt. Thats a pretty big "boat" to launch. How bout the cruize, and once again(last year) won motor trends truck of the year. Whats not to love. So they now have branched out into china, and business is booming, its time to tap the market and pivot the share in U.S favor for a while, dont ya think? Besides, let their soil, water and air suffer the construction of all those plants, then continue durring the manufacturing process, jobs done there will lead to more work here as well. I see this as good/smsrt business. JMO
