Idler arm or pivot or Both

Ive been noticing the front end getting a little sloppy. I got under the truck and noticed the idler arm has some play in it. When i was looking at some of the parts stores web sites it mentions a idler arm and a pivot separately. ?????Last idler arm i replaced on my last truck it came as 1 piece. Do I need both or should just the arm take care of my issues????

Do both since you will have it out. If the pivot thing is worn it will wear your new idler arm prematurely

I have just replaced the arm on 2 of our 2500 trucks. There was no play in the pivot on either.

Check the pitman arm as well. It's usually the pitman arm and the idler arm that takes a crap.
