Ok guys. I've had this idea floating around in my head for a while now, but I've been hesitant to post about it because the truck wasn't even running. Well, that part is fixed now so I thought I would put this out there and see what you guys think about it.

First off, just this week I went and talked to a guy I know that owns a body shop. I have talked to him about some preliminary plans I have to smooth up the look of the truck. As of now, I plan on getting a rollpan, removing the fender flares, painting the front bumper and cap, painting the chrome part of the grille, and maybe painting the door handles and mirrors (I am considering swapping my dumbo ear '06 tow mirrors for some power folding mirrors).

Second off, after I decided what color I was going to go with on my twins, I started thinking of ideas on how to incorporate it onto the outside of the truck. I came up with the idea to paint some lightening bolts down the side of the truck that are the same color as the plumbing.

Now then, if I did this, I have what I think is a pretty clever name for the truck. I'm thinking I would name it LimeLight. Maybe have it painted on the tailgate in sort of lightening looking script, but I'm not set on that.

Anyway, I did a very very rough job of making a rendering of what I have in mind. I suck at this kind of thing, and I used paint. Please don't be too critical of the picture; I'm just trying to get my idea across.

Let me know your opinion on everything.

I like the name

I could picture the bolts in that color scheme ( Cool )but i think a custom painter or graphics guy could get you a better idea on what it would look like. NOT BASHING your awsome MS paint scheme but you know what I mean:D

The lightening theme is a down the road deal. I'm thinking late summer at the earliest. The guy at the body shop has some painters that are really good with an air brush. I have done a few things for him with EFI for just the cost of a license, so he is giving me a deal on all the stuff I want to do by charging me only materials and what he pays his guys. He quoted me $550 for the rollpan and to paint it, the bumper and grille. He quoted me $1300 to do the lightening stuff starting on the bed, running down across the doors, then up the fender and over the edge across the hood (pretty much like my awesome picture shows). Still debating on whether or not I should leave the hood clean.

But the graphics guy is a good idea. I'll have to see if I can find someone that can help me out with that.

The bolts need to go the other way...No?
That's just how I always pictured it in my head. I guess I'll have to try your graphics guy idea to get a look at several different options and see what I like best.

I hadn't really considered vinyl, but I think I would prefer paint. I have seen some of the stuff the painters at the body shop have done, and they do really good work. The guy is giving me a good deal, but I'm sure the vinyl would still be cheaper. I'll have to give it some thought.

Im a big fan of airbrush but the vinyl kits they make now adays is pretty freakin good! it take a lot of abuse and covers scratches and then when you get tired of it you just remove it.

Just throwin in my 2 cents CDN:D

Vinyl wrap would be the way to go Josh. You can get excellent detailed quality and it you don't like it a year down the road. Pull it off.

X2 on the bolts going to other way imo.

I would also get rid of the big guard you have in front but you probably need that in Texas?

Black sidewall tires, maybe a little darker tint on the front windows.

I like the name too Josh:thumb:

That is a waaaaaaaaaay old picture (notice the stock exhaust :D), but it was all I could find that was a good side shot. The grille guard has been gone for a long time (well, not installed), and the tires that are on it now do have the black sidewalls out. I have a set of 20" wheels that I'm going to get powdercoated black, the front is dropped with the torsion bars, and I'm thinking about lowering the back a few inches. I would like darker tint on the front windows, but I don't think it would be legal. I may do it anyway.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. :)

Kind of wondered about that, but then I remembered reading about a sleeper look too:rofl:

That would be awsome on there. I am with LBZrcks on them going the other way and the darker tint. That away you would be able to start it on the hood then back.

I think that color would be awsome as well.

Do the roll pan, front bumper and mirrors and then see what it looks like. An all black truck is pretty hard to beat for looks. Then decide on the lightning bolts. Limelight is a great name, there is a really good club here with that name.

x345 Vinyl wrap and swap bolt around front to back looks better like when doing flames on the fenders. You never see them going the other way if anything mybe have them coming down the hood into the fenders and grill and top of bottom lip of door window to rocker with cload effect fading into the bottom of the windows and black limo tint. Then have the name across the tailgate or along each bed side.

Wonders if boiserob does Vinyl wrap. I would like to do my tailgate with Creatures Of The Night Performance in bloody letters of in fire like in sig. Then have 2 little Vinyl stickers got the rear ex cab windows that read Devil Girl.

Josh's is navy blue though, still looks good monochromed. Just don't hang a disco ball from the mirror if it's named Limelight

I think the blue and green go well together. As others have said maybe arrange the lightning a bit differently.

X2 ,I like the way the bolt is designed but I think it would look good to have it start off of the upper corner of the flare and "shoot " backwards , Love the name and thinks its an awesome idea , I would try for paint first , if its too much Rob Rule should be able to design you a wrap , Rob is the man when it comes to decals.
