I think I want to buy a Duramax Truck; now I need some help...

Ok, I have a 2003 F150 Heritage Edition SC 4x4 5.4 Triton and 3.55 gears. Heres some pictures of my truck: http://www.f150online.com/forums/members/miles99-albums-2003-f150-heritage-edition-4x4.html

We have a new camper coming in late December and although, my F150 is rated at 7500 and I could pull it; I'd be asking for trouble.

Don't want new (or I should say can't afford new). So have been lerking a bit and think I'd like to find an LB7 or LLY. I am not the mechanical type so unfortunately any work Id have to get done at a shop.

Looking for CrewCab, Short Box, Lowest possible miles under 100,000. What do you think? Am I looking for the right truck? I will have to trade mine for it. I am actually goint to go looking at some volume dealers on Wednesday.

Any help insight or direction you can give me would be great. I know nothing about Duramax, but have decided I want diesel.

you can get a good lb7 or lly for pretty cheap right now. i would try and buy one from an individual before i would go to a stealership. they are still asking a lot more then what you can find them for other places.

Though it is nice to have very low milege... 100,000 is just getting the engine broke in.
I've got 115,000 on mine and it's never had any engine failures
