I think I need more boost.

Well, maybe "want" is the better term. I'm only running PPE set at level 4 in my LBZ but I'm only seeing 25psi on my Dipricol gauge. I have it plumbed into the intake manifold and the gauge is in the overhead console. At around 70mph, I only see 4psi. I thought I should be seeing more like 30psi or so. Is something wrong or do I need something else to increase the boost like PPE's boost controller or a boost stick? I know I know, get EFI. I will if I can ever afford to get my trans built. I haven't checked the boost stock yet but I'm not looking forward to the results either.

I am no expert, but I think boost is usually low while cruising. PPE makes a boost controller, and I'm not sure about the boost stick, I have heard of them, but I don't really know anything about them. I have heard that PPE increases boost in their tunes, but I don't have my gauges in, so I don't know for sure.

At cruising speed your boost will be low.. I run 3-6 psi in my LBZ on the highway.. but when you stomp on it, your boost will jump right up to around 32-34 with the PPE Standard.. at least mine does. I think the Boost stick you are referring to is only on the LB7's.. Not sure about it though..

boost

mine will turn 32psi with only exhast work, but stock otherwise, at 70 mph i believe she is at least 10psi or so maybee alittle more. I am picking up my cold air intake tomorow and will install it and hopefully get a little more, i hear up to 38psi with the intake and exhast only, we'll see. need a programmer too!

PPE makes a boost controller that works well, Fleece Performance also makes a Turbo Brake that also acts as a boost controller too, both are adjustable. There is also a boost stick, Its not adjustable, but I hear it works fairly well too.

The theres EFI :D

Unless your EGT's are getting too hot while cruising, The lowest boost you can possibly run, will greatly help your fuel mileage. Bumping it up to 30 PSI while cruising at 70MPH, will have you knocking down single digits for fuel mileage.

I have a Aeroforce Scan gauge that lets me monitor the MPG and a PPE boost controller to vary the boost....and more boost stomps my mileage.

Boost sticks are for LLY and LBZ (and maybe LMMs) but NOT for the LB7. Just FYI.

Without an EGR block plate, you can't go over 25psi before it blows open the valve, IIRC.

I've got that. Kittys gone too.

Just seems a little more boost would clean up all the smoke that roles out. Also wondering if there is anything on these turbos like sensors or actuators that may go out and need replacing from time to time.

Easiest fix would be a boost controller. Just plug it in and dial in the amount of boost you want.
