I pulled my motor today, but managed to ruin the drivers side motor mount (Split Rubber) and also took a chunk out of the aluminum plate between the bellhousing and the block. I don't know the technical name for it but a small piece broke were the bolt goes, nearest the starter. Am I best off to get these parts strait from GM or does some one here have a better suggestion? Any opinions on welding the aluminum plate? Seems like theres enough room were I could gouge out the broken piece and weld it back together?

Thanks for the link, I really dont think its in a crucial spot. I am going to try and weld it first.. Nothing is cheap for these things:rolleyes: so it really does not surprise me at the cost of these adapters. Thats what I get for being in a rush and forgetting a bolt in the bell housing:banghead: What about the motor mount? Can you get a better price on these Henry? And for anyone wondering I put a jack stand under the motor mount to balance the motor when it was on the ground, The motor shifted when I was attempting to remove the balancer and split the rubber inside the mount:(

on DP, it appears that Merchant Automotive is now selling/supplying some motor mounts...

Yes I seen those, and they look nice, but I am thinking overkill for my current application. I would also like to know how they will perform in a DD platform as far as extra vibration and such?

Snap a pic of it. Most Al is weldable.

Here are a couple pic's, the second one I high lighted were the break starts and ends. I am going to attempt to weld it tomorrow. The last pic is the pipe I am sending you paul, assuming this is the right one??

That is the correct up-pipe. I can't really see where the crack is in that pic:confused: Did the piece completely break off or is it just cracked?

If you look right near the starter hole you can see were a chunk chipped off about 2-3" long. There is still 3-4 threads left on the adapter plate but the other half is attached to the bellhousing.

P.S. Paypal sent;)
