Hey guys im trying to put a set of dulley rims on my truck for the pulls tommorw. The break caliber is hitting and will not let the rim go over . They are 16 inch dulley rims. Other then disconnecting the break caliber is there a way i can get it to work. If not i will just use front breaks and disconnect both calibers

Kurt, Are you serious??You have to know someone with 2 ,36 or 38" Boggers or something along those lines you can borrow. Disconnecting brakes is a bad idea... That's funny sheet right there, i don't care where your from...I needed that..

Kurt, dont run your truck without back brakes, thats not a good idea.......theres better options than trying to run a rim thats not designed for your truck.

No brakes? Dude you got coco nuts! What if?:(

You need a spacer, perhaps even longer boltsies.

I haven't seen the dually rim, how much are you hitting? Move the rim 1" off the backer and see if it gives you room. If so, go fetch several pieces of aluminum from home depot stack it up until you get 1" then drill holes through for lugs. Freakin' bolts will prolly be way to short then!

Jeeze, no brakes... well hell i guess you could just trim the face out edge of the caliper then....:rofl:Got a big azz belt sander? Sorry.:)

Be patient Dude. It sucks to break cause of being in a hurry.

I was joust going to disconnect the rear calibers. The truck is going to be a trailer queen to get over there. I didnt see where disconnecting the calbiers was a bad idea

depending on the tire size you will need spacers and longer wheel studs.....the axle housings in a dually 11.5 rearend is actually wider if i recall

Simple question for you. You shouldn't have any issues as the inner rim on the back should be the stock steel one and only Al on the outside. You don't use 6 aluminum rims, only 4.

You continue to out-do yourself every day.

If you dont think there is anything wrong with this idea, go ahead and try it. Report back how it works, I might try it too, as losing the rear brake calipers would help quite a bit with weight reduction.

Don't laugh.... I had to do that on a 87 1 ton chevy dually, Carquest front calipers have more meat on them then the OEM ones do. I have a set of weld dually wheels on that truck and after 20 some odd years the pass. front caliper froze and the new one had to be ground down to have the wheel fit :D

It can be done with patience and a gentle hand with a grinder

on our 84 chevy pulling truck we had to take the 9" grinder to the calipers and mounts to get the 15"x15" rims w/ SS bar tires to fit. I'd say the problem your having is you don't have factory GM wheels, they're off another brand and have a different offset and the tire mounting dish area is in wrong spot. even if you can get them on, they will probably rub the springs.

what are you going to plug the brake lines w/ when you disconnect the lines? if not you will NOT have brakes since all the fluid will come out the unhooked lines instead of working the front brakes.
