Need a two speed shift on the fly trans (tq. converter is acceptable but not perferred) needs to be 1:1 in first and 1:1.75ish in 2nd. This is for a marine bulid.

EDIT: I had to fix a mistake in the ratio's.

why can't you set drive ratio and prop for running 1:1, then use powerglide with driveplate. that is what is normally done. when you start to go away from normal setups you will wind up making it yourself or having it made. with drive force of boat i would rather have 1:1 than spinning output 2:1, if you get out of the water or ripple chop in water the loading/unloading harmonics will start to eat transmission and other components.

IIRC you can install the gearvendors unit in either direction. If you want under drive it is installed one way, for overdrive simply swap the input / output. You may want to call them to find out. They do work with land speed vehicles. I would think that most land speed vehicles want overdrive to keep the rearend strong enough.

Check out http://www.gearvendors.com/faq.html they discuss the overdrive feature for diesel trucks.
