I need 0-5 volts...........

I need to find a 0-5 volt digital output to control a pump. I need this pump to speed up when MM3 required goes up. I was wondering what I should use to control this. Would the TPS work? Maybe some sort of boost or MAF signal? Basically, as MM3 goes up and down I need the voltage to go up and down-more voltage, the faster the pump turns.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can use that is already on the truck, or what sort of sensor I can use? I could use a potentiometer mounted on the dash, but I want something automatic.

Thanks

Im not very good at these sorts of things, but I do know the TPS is a 0-5 v that works the way you are describing. Volts go up when pedal is mashed, and dumps to zero when its chopped. I know of some guys that have gassers that have used 0-5v signals like things on A/C output and such but I am not familiar with that.

Sounds like you want to match the CP3 pump demand. TPS would work, but I would tap the rail pressure sensor.

This is exactly what I want to do. So RP has a 0-5 volt output then? Is it a three wire or two wire sensor? FYI I am not using PWM to control this pump-in case that mattered.

Three wire sensor. The middle wire on the connector is the signal and the White wire is ground on your truck. The other wire is the 5 Volt supply.

Ok thanks Fingers. If the RP goes up, does the reference voltage increase?

No, 5 Volt reference is just that, 5 Volts. Use the middle, Signal, wire for the pressure indication. The voltage from ground to the signal wire is proportional to the rail pressure.
