Im pretty new to the duramax world, i just bought a 2007 chevy classic duramax with the lbz. when i bought the truck i noticed a switch on the dash and i turned it to a higher level and it didnt seem to do anything, so i looked deeper into it and i noticed that the switch was cut out. then i noticed that there are two other wires sticking out of the wiring harness that were also cut off so i was wondering it these two used to be connected? and if maybe i could hook the two wires back together to have adjustable power levels again. Right now there is a tune in the computer but i have no idea what kind of tune it is, it sure as hell isnt stock.

or do these wires have nothing to do with each other? or is there supposed to be something in between the two?

Thanks a bunch

To bad its not still hooked up,tuen it up to 5 and go have some fun:D

The good news is you have a free dsp5 switch and it appears to still have the wires coming out of the ecm still should confirm they are still conected to the ecm if they are run some wire and hook it up and get it tuned.:woott:

Not sure why the seller would cut out a few feet of wire and leave the switch. But by the pic those are the wires that should connect. I would connect them and see what happens. If you can find someone local with efi live, have them read the tunes out of the ecm and tcm to figure out if they have been changed. You may have a dsp5 tune in the ecm still. It could be the tranny shows ill signs at 100hp and over so the seller didn't want that to be known and cut the wires. Hard to say.

Im betting the tune is still in there and the dealer cut the wire for liability and so they wouldlnt have to fix it ifthe op bought it and destryed the trans and brought it back and said they sold him a bad truck.

Op if you try and hook those wires back up you might be in for a hell of a ride.:woott:

Thanks guys ill try and hook them back up and see want happens lol. Talk about tranny what ever tune it has in it now makes the tranny make a grinding noise when going from 4 to 5 but only when your on it .
The black wire is the ground wire isn't it. Or wouldnt you think.

Thanks
