So i need some help I got a 2003 duramax 75000 miles it all started when my diesel had a rough idle so the dealer ship replaced the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and repaired a vacume line which fixed everything. That was at 72000 miles. 3000 miles later my truck seems like it can't hold fuel pressure I will start it and it will die I have to prime the fuel filter to get it to start again some times it will drive for about 100 yards then it will die again then I have to get out and prime the filter again for it to start Any ideas what going on ?

It is common for the seals in the fuel filter housing to wear, shrink, and dry out, which allows air in the fuel system. The CP3 pulls fuel from the fuel tank, through the filter housing and filter. So, any small leak will result in the engine stopping after a start. [It is liking drinking a soda with a bad straw.]

GM does NOT service the seal kit, only a complete housing-$$$. Many vendors have the filter housing seal kit-- only about $25. Check Merchant Auto, Alligator Performance.

This may be the perfect time to get a viton O ring kit and the adapter to accept a Cat 2 micron fuel filter. Better filtration for injectors already prone to failure = cheap preventive maintenance.

Nicktane.com or Undergrounddiesel.com for the adapter. Can't go wrong this way
