Thought I would vent a bit. I have a project truck that I'm working on and this thing has been a pain in my ass since I bought it. I decide to go for it and deal with problems that come along as it happens. First I talk to the local hotrodder and he says absolutely, I'll call you back tommorrow. A week goes by and no call:mad:, screw him I'll go somewhere else. (I've been in the shop lots of times and told them to call and they never do.) I order go fast parts and am told it will take 10 business days. I tell them sounds good and send them money and it's been 2 friggin months now and still nothing (respected company that many have dealt with.) I order tranny parts and they come in 3 weeks, exactly how long they said it would take, pat on the back for them. Take my truck to get the tranny redone since the converter is due back and it's been sitting in the same spot for a solid week now. I have money in hand for people and they won't even help me out and take it. I'm on the edge of saying screw it and haulin the thing a couple hours away to someone that will work on it. Anyone else have this problem or is it just me? Thanks for reading:hug:

Sad to say, it sounds like you're trusting the wrong people. Time to re-evaluate who you choose and why. I had that problem, and got burned pretty bad. Taught me a lesson.

I've only dealt with IdahoRob, (ATP), and Jess, (Husker), both provided excellent customer service, and I will go back. Call out the people you're talking about so others don't wind up in your shoes.

I know what you are going through. I am doing my build and am having the same experiences. I don't understand what the hell happened to customer service. I understand things get busy and what not but atleast keep in contact with the customer. I have had some issues with some very respected companies. There are a few that go out of their way to help and make things right. I definetly appreciate that. My build is already a month and a half behind what I wanted it to be because of waiting for parts. I am definetly not pleased with the diesel aftermarket. Just my experience.

I know how ya feel man! My engine block sat in the corner of a machine shop for 3 weeks untouched when I was building it. Picked it up and took it somewhere that they like to take money in exchange for work.

Well sort of, the machine work is all done but the bearings are coming back from coating about 5 days late. I am going to have a mad week of assembling the motor and fabbing all the turbo plumbing. Thats on top of work and doing a trans. I am pretty sure I have all the parts know. That was the biggest battle. Thanks Henry for all the help. It is much appreciated.

I seems to take forever to get certain parts. I will leave my verdict untill I see the finished product. I don't mind waiting if the end result is at or above my expectations. Just really sucks I missed the first pull and my truck is no where near together. Partly my fault as I thought ordering parts 3 months before the season starting would be plenty of time. Oh well.

This sounds like a familiar story. I find this to be the norm not the exception. You'd think performance diesels were the fastest growing sport in the world as long as it takes to get somethings done. Once you find a supplier, builder, tuner, etc that you like, stick with them.:thumb:

At least I know I'm not alone. I've already missed 4 pulls and 3 races this year and have to work on the rest of them except for one, big time bummer. This really is a piss poor area to find someone that is actually knowledgable in uncommon areas, automatic tranys being one. I found someone that does know their stuff and had them do work before but this time seems to be different. I'd rather not point fingers at the people dissapointing me at this time since they still have my stuff:(, but I will give the thumbs up to Goerend Bros. for the trans parts, they even give follow up calls:thumb: It's a Dodge truck otherwise I would be using vendors here. That could be my problem:joker:

I had the same problem, I'm glad it happend though, if a shop decides not to call me back to sell me somthing, wonder how the rest of there service must be. There's plenty of good honest shops that are just as willing to help as they are to take your money, I'm glad I have a good idea on who they are now.
