Is the compressed Gas cylinder loose in its position or stiff? After taking my motor out I hit the cylinder with my arm and noticed it move. I would assume its supposed to be stuck in place if its compressed. The truck has been off for about 4 months now, and the motor is completely out. Not sure if it builds up pressure while the truck is running or not.

Mine has always been stiff/solid. It is a hydraulic accumulator, and deals with really high pressures, so I wouldn't think it should move, even when discharged. My truck also has been sitting, but is in another state at the moment, or I would check mine for you.

But that doesn't seem right. Be careful when you start it that it doesn't leak or come off as pressure builds up.

I finally got my truck back on the road last week, and I had totally forgotten about this. I could/should have checked it for you.

Oh well, replacing it is the smart/safe thing anyway.
