Would hung injctors cause a motor to start and shut off? If I keep cranking for 10 - 15 min it will finally start. It sounds like its slowly clearing out raw fuel. Smells like it too. This was originally thought to be air in the fuel system. This is a new motor. Out of ideas here.:(

Probably has no smoke cause it can't light a fire in that hole-too much fuel!
I'd say it's very likely to have a hung injector after a build. When fuel systems are opened up they are very subject to contamination and it doesn't take much to foul an injector.

Not saying that's what it is 100% though......

Pull out the glow plugs and remove the fuse for the injectors. If you have a hung injector you will see it when you crank the truck over. Here is my hung injector vid.;)

Have you logged the truck during cranking to see your rail pressure?

a hung 40over lbz injector on a cold motor will just barely crank due to hydro lock with stock compression.

Well pulled all glow plugs and disconnected FICM and cranked. No fuel came out. Sounded normal. Did some logging during cranking and idle. I did find something interesting while looking at thr fuel lines while running. The rubber supply line just after the filter will suck shut without the lift pump on. This is during idle. The command and desired rp are both @ 4300. When the truck starts to stumble the pw and mm3 spike. Trying to compensate for air in the system? This thing is drivin me crazy! :banging

Sounds like it to me.
What kind of rail pressure do you see while cranking?

Dont get to worried about the white smoke. Most likey just oil getting by the rings as they have not been seated yet.

Fuel line sucked closed???? Might have a filter issue, or your lift pump does not allow free flow. Have you checked the crank position sensor and wheel to see that they are set?

Theres more than one way to set the crank position sensor? It sill runs good once I finally get it goin though. As long as the lift pump is on. Haven't reset tune for IP mod yet.
