Hello, does any one have a side by side comparison on the ss vs steel housings from HTT?
I ordered a 66-71-13 in ss and received a 66-71-14 in steel and was told the ss housings are on back order.

The vendor offered to send me the ss housing when they come off back order or a partial refund.
I have the turbo on my truck and I'm not sure if its worth the time to swap out housings.

Thanks, Chris

I would go stainless , it will spool a good bit faster and the wastegate flows more if you ever decide to cranks the power up . I went from a cast 14cm to a stainless 16cm and even the 16cm spools faster than my 14cm cast housing did . I bet the 13cm stainless would spool faaast !

Do the stainless. You won't regret it. The SS is a custom design by HTT, where as the Cast is BW design. I had the 16 cm housing and it spooled faster than the stock turbo.

Thanks TrentNell, now that's first hand experience!
I don't race my truck so all this is for fun but I do tow heavy loads at times ( 10' Arctic fox camper in the bed with a equipment trailer in tow, w/ around 12,000lbs of crap on it), is there a enough gains to make it worth pulling the turbo off the truck and swapping housings?
Thanks again.

Did you miss my post? Yes. I have run both variations, it is worth the time. Just take the charger loose from the pedistal, undo the oil feed and drain line, both intake and CA ducting. Its a lot easier than taking the whole pedistal and all off.

Good luck

Wolf sorry I must have been responding to Trents info when you posted.
Thank you for the responce, it sound like the ss housing is a huge improvment.

Another question, the 13 cm will spool quicker than the 16cm, will the 13cm give me lower egts than the 16 while towing?

It should, tuning plays a role in that though. The SS housing will lower egts by itself though about 50-100* maybe. You will like it.
