HTT Competition 71mm?

Anyone have this turbo? What do you think?

I have a lb7 that made 522hp on stock turbo (fuel only) and were tossing turbo ideas around.

Gimme some ideas please.

if Pat made 600+ on the 66m the 71 should be good for a lil more id think

4094 is a 67mm

It should be very capable of over 700 with enough fuel, but is limited by its T3 turbine housing. You may want to consider a S400 based charger or a S300 with a T4 exhaust housing.

It should be abpout the same as your 5000 except you should be able to get the benefit of a stainless exhaust housing. If I were thinking turbos it would have to be twins.

A friend of mine with a Cummins did somewhere around 713 with a 66mm Silver Bullet and 730 with a A5K. The 71mm has a bigger compressor wheel and turbine housing so it should be close to what a A5K does (with the smaller Dodge turbine housing anyway).

My buddy Garrett just put a a5k on his 01' dmax with a race tune from MMLMM. He went 13.2@90mph with a stock trans in albuquerque a couple weekends ago. He limped 5th and coasted through the line. If any one has tried to race above 5000ft you know thats a damn good time!! His trans is in the mail.

Hondarider runs 12.6@107 in Phoenix in his lbz with stock turbo......his best in Albuquerque that same day was 13.4@100mph:rofl:

What im getting at is we need LOTS of air up here. I live in Durango, CO which is 6,800ft elevation.

A5k is 71.4mm 85mm Im pretty sure the HiTec comp is 71mm 73mm which is quite a bit smaller.

The A5k for the Duramax has an inducer bore of 72mm.

They run pretty well. I've built several of them for dodges and Dmax's.
