Hello everyone. Joined this forum because I need help and advice! I just purchased an '86 Chevy military 1-ton with 62,000 miles. The truck is in excellent shape and has the 14-bolt locker rear and Dana 60 front, however has the pitiful 6.2 engine. I currently own a '05 GMC Duramax and am quite happy with the performance, so I'm considering finding a Duramax and swapping it in the '86. I would appreciate any comments in this regard.

Hi there. Welcome to the site. That's a sweet new truck you have there. There are a few guys who have done Duramax swaps, and I'm sure they would be happy to provide some assistance to you. Good luck with it.

find a complete donor vehicle. That way you'll have all the wiring and controls. Will make life a whole lot easier. Oh yeah, Welcome aboard.
