I can get a T6 88mm/117mm 1.56AR turbo for pretty cheap. It came off a trencher. How do yall think it would do under an s472?

hahahahaha. just a tad. i figured instead of building the motor, i'll leave the tuning conservative and just buy supporting parts for the motor. like injectors, turbo, dual fuelers, etc...that way when i do build the motor i have everything i need to go fast already.

a smaller AR exhuast housing would be a good idea to get for it. that 1.56 with a 117mm turbine will have a heck of a time getting spooled.
im building a gt5594 over a s475 right now and it uses a 111mm turbine with a 1.12 a/r. youll deffiently need lots of fuel to get it goin!
what size turbine and housing is on your 472 right now?

Damn I was hoping to avoid having to get a tighter housing. I wish my 1.10 s400 housing would fit it. Oh well, I know I do want to make me some twins tho. Gonna talk to a friend and see what his cost is on a s483. What AR and should I get on an 83? 1.15??

Partially because I want to build my own setup and because I think I can save a lot of money by keeping the 72 and putting something under it. Also, I'd like to have a big set of twins for when I build the motor.

Damn, your build puts everything into perspective. I guess I should have mentioned this turbo is currently on a twinned, rowdy p pumped 12v.....

It's a .90 ar 83mm turbine. If I was to get a larger AR housing for it, and ran it with a stock turbo, that should make for a really fast spooling setup? Or would the small turbine on the s472 cause high drive pressure issues? I'm trying to think of options that will keep the s472.

if your going to twin over your current charger in the valley you will need to wastegate it. that 83mm and .9 housing without a gate would never flow enough to lite the lo pressure that you have in mind.

what type of turbo are you talking about exactly?brand?mo#?
even a 1.32 housing would work. the truck will only lag as much as it dose now if you keep the same charger.

I got the idea to use a s483 after I saw a build Danville did with a 472 and 483, I didn't see any gates on their setup. Any options that use the stock turbo with a 472?

no I don't know the brand or anything. I can find out. So you think if I run a big twin setup it's not gonna spool slower than this single does?

The waste gate has nothing to do with lighting the atmosphere turbo , nor does the A/R .

The truck will spool slower with a very large low pressure turbo than it does as a single , the charge pipe will be under a vacuum until the rpm is high enough on the low pressure to push positive displacement . The turbo your looking at has a G trim turbine wheel , which is very large , with the right compressor wheel in it; it could be bad mo fo , but not even close to something to choose for a street based truck , also if you were to pick up a turbine housing you will need a 1.0 or smaller for our displacement .

trent, whats your opinions on a stock bottom end, stock fueling truck with a s483 under a s472? i know its not the best, but a big set of twins allows me to swap them to a built motor when the time comes
