How to limit front end from raising up

How are you guys limiting front end from lifting up? I am able to hang 1100 pounds on the front of my truck and it still raises up very high? The rear is solid with ma stops and James hitch and receiver. The torsion bars are up trying to be able to make turns with 35s. Are you guys just making adjustable front stops and lowering the bars way down?

Limiting the front from lifting up (such as with ratchet straps) usually results in less than desired side effects as it will take pressure (and possibly lift) the front tires. Most guys are making stops to limit how far the front end can drop (after backing off the torsion bar adjuster bolts). This helps with tire clearance and the front end doesn't lift as much from "nuetral" so you don't lose as much hitch height as you do without front stops.

I think there are a few pictures of the stops guys have made on this forum as well. I think James from BCH was one of those that posted pics (but not 100% sure).

You know I haven't tried it, but I think straps will be able to work just fine. They work on straight axles. Only thing that would make it difficult to calculate would be the angles per inch lift from the arms. But I guess a jack and testing would work fine.

I think its going to hop. I'd hate to believe no one has tried it. Just a hunch though.

Strapping the front end will result in hopping. The tires need to be free to follow the ground. Think of it like having the ability for them to move down and follow the terrain instead of the body moving up. Your problem is the frame is moving up, taking the tires with it will cause them to loose traction and then the only tires with traction are the rears. When that happens the front end gets slammed back down and the hopping begins. By loosening up the torsion bars you take away spring tension pushing up on the frame. That makes the front end heavier. After that you need to look at the hooking point in the rear and set it up to not pull up on the front end as much.

People have tried it. Lets just say the lucky ones just hopped a little, the unlucky ones were towed off the track by a loader........

I suspected, and I've heard about it. But having never seen it tried and failed first hand so I didn't exactly want to post matter of factly.

I made a set of bump stops to keep the front end from raising to high and the work great. but I had to cause if I didn't id break cv axles all day long where it was lifting so high

Well I got a chance to work on the truck this evening. Took the torsion bar bolts out and I can just pick the truck up a 1/2" by pulling on the weight rack. Before with the bolts ran way up I could pick the truck way up in the front. Made some solid blocks for the front, hope I guessed correct on my height, if not might be a rough ride!!

can someone explain this to me? I want to set my truck up right, but was told not to crank my bars all the way down. My problem is I have a gd rack because I out 1ton springs in. So I was gonna do a 2" lowering shackle and then figure out how to limit front from coming up..

I don't really understand this concept, so of anyone can explain it better id apprecaite it

Really hmm Lol didn't know that still looks like a cool setup for those who could use it

Yep. It also looks like its not difficult to adjust so anyone hooking multiple classes or organizations could utilize it without alot of aggravation swapping back and fortg .

Anyone got any experience with that type of setup?
