How much boost?

Just wanting to see how much boost i should be seeing under normal driving and max with the PPE. Normal driving, under loads on a grade or good freeway pull i really dont see any boost unless important WOT. I can hear the turbo but the WatchDog monitor will say like 3-5lbs? Is this right? On a WOT pull i believe max was 19lb, i can't remember.

But by the sounds of the turbo when important under a lhad it sounds like its making more than it reading. I also put a brand new GM map sensor in when i done my HG's. Important wondering if this is in anyway related to my idle issue.

Another duramax pulled into the store beside me the other morning and you could hear a constant swoosh & whistle at idle were mine just sounds like a hug boat. No whistle or swoosh.

From what I heard that's about right. How about you ditch the ppe and get some real tuning with efi and you'll probably see more boost.

Efi was my next step until head gaskets went, replaced them, fpr, filter head, went to cat filter and still can't get my idle figured out. Sounds almost like a fuel knock until the truck actually makes boost when she purrs like a kitten, but normal driving with no boost sounds like a old 12 valve. I've replaced all the fuel lines, added a lift pump, went over all the wiring while it was out. No CEL important bout ready to throw in the rag and take it to a shop

Have you taken the ppe off to see if the noise is still there? Also I see in your sig that you have a DIY lift pump. Do you know what the pressure is coming out of the pump to the cp3? To high of pressure will cause an idle/lope issue.

Its the carter diy lift pump its a 3-5psi max pump. It was doing before and when i went to do filter head rebuild and fpr i found the filter head was plugged with what looked to be sand. So i replaced the filter head and added the lift pump, thought it git better but it didn't. It doesn't lope til it gets to operating temp. Without the PPE it still does it all.

Yes trying to get it off now, was suppose to get efi actual, downpipe, &4" turbo back until i had to spend a $1k on head gaskets, studs, & lml manifold

That's why the truck you heard had a whistle it was probably straight piped
