How hot is too hot?

I was towing my dads camper (approx 15k lbs) and was keeping an eye on my egts when I saw this. That's the only picture I could get but I watched it go over 1300 several times, in short bursts (no more than 10 or 15 seconds before it returned to below 1200). This won't hurt my engine will it?

Mine has seen this for over 2 years now quite often. Zero problems.

It seems like the Duramaxs don't had as much problem melting pistons due to high egts, there are alot of guys that run 1350 all the way up a grade, you should be fine, but better safe than sorry so just keep doing what you are doing now...
