Wondering what it would take and cost to make my crewcab shortbox a regular cab shortbox. basically cut out the back of the cab and shorten the frame. anyone done something like this? would it be better to buy aregular cab longbox and transplant everything into it.

I have done a reg cab long box dodge and turned it into a reg cab short bed. It wasnt all the hard but it took alot of time measuring and checking everything to make sure everything was going to line up right when it was done.

As for turning a crew cab into a reg cab that would be ALOT of work and would not be worth it in the end IMHO.

I wouldn't cut down your cab.... if you HAVE to use your truck, find a cab and swap it out and hack your frame but I don't think I'd hack your cab unless you're a good body man and can get it right and on your own. Wouldn't want to pay that bill to shorten your cab.

In the end, I think I'd just find a reg. cab truck and cut it down and if you can't have two trucks, sell the one you have after transferring over the goodies.
