Got P0700 code, i read somewhere that i can check the TCM codes with efi live but i can't find anywhere on how to do that. I got efi live, just wanna see if i can pinpoint the problem with my trans. brand new ppe stage 5 trans, installed yesterday. got P0700 and P0872, probably stuck E valve but i wanna check the codes first before i take it apart.

Thanks:thumb:

Your EFILive scan tool will pull the TCM codes. P0872 is the TCM code.

You will have to remove the valve body and split it. The upper portion of the valve body with a single solenoid is where your are going. Look at the valve in the center and that is E shift valve. it is stuck. You will want to clean the bore and not the valve. The valve lands have sharp edges to clear debris through the bore. If you sand the valve you will round the edges on the lands and the problem will get worse.
When you re assemble valve body only fingure tight the bolts. then you mount the valve body on the case and fingure tight the mounting bolts. Now, tq all the bolts to 97 in lb evenly..

How come it does this to a brand new built tranny?
it worked fine for an hour, and then started acting up.

Maybe a little bit of something got in during the build and after it was run the fluid circulating washed it in there and it hung up. Maybe?

Yeah that's a possibility i guess, or maybe didn't quite flush all the old fluid out of the cooler and lines. Ran it with the "from cooler" line unhooked until clean fluid came out of it but probably still had some debris in there. Either way, she's gotta come apart no matter what the cause is. Just kinda bummed out cuz i've been waiting for 2 months on this tranny lol, i wanna drive the truck again. I gotta learn how to drive it again, way way different than my megacab lol:rofl:

Mike has posted before that Brake Clean is ok. That is what I used when I had this issue and everything works fine now:thumb:

George at Suncoast told me that you should be able to drop the valve in the bore and hear it bounce of the bottom. If it hangs at all you will be doing it again.

Cool i'll see what i come up with tomorrow. Hopefully i can finally enjoy the truck and don't have to get my builder to rip the trans apart again
