How can I control this, and could it be the reason for my terrible 60 ft. times?

I found this pic of me taken right at launch. The toe-in is horrible. Can I strap my stock center link the way the pullers do to help control it? A solid link is on the list, but I'm looking for a temp. solution until the money situation gets better. I have sleeves and braces, and everything feels tight, but launching is incredible violent. I'm cutting 2.01 60 fts with spring clamps launching at 2200 rpm and running a best of 9.033 so far.

Some have put a ratchet strap on the centerlink i think???

Your centerlink is rolling under the torque. Straight link and you're good to go.

Yup a Superdiesel Centerlink or one made by someone else would likely fix this issue. Do you currently have centerlink braces as well?

No just sleeves and idler and pitman braces. I found a thing about strapping the centerlink for pulling, and I think I'm gonna strap it at the strip and find out what happens. Will strapping it prevent toe-in? I want the centerlink but funds are tight right now.

Maybe try a set of centerlink braces, They supposedly help keep it from twisting. I put a set on my truck but haven't been to the track since so I dont know if they help really or not.

Alot of good info in this thread . Even if you dont have the shocks it curses there is still alot of info .

Thanks for the link, lotsa good info for sure. I think I'm gonna get a solid centerlink, and QA1's for the front and see what happens. Did you notice any difference running with your rear bumper removed? Everybody thinks I'm nuts for trying to remove weight where ever I can, but the way I was always taught is that no matter what you drive, removing ounces is the key to removeing pounds, and removing pounds is one of the keys to dropping down the ET.

I've got those pics saved and that link on diesel place bookmarked lol. I'm going try it just to find out if it helps before I get the money to go solid linked and QA1's

Here is a pic I found if you wanna try straping the centerlink

There have been several guys that have had no luck in strapping the front end... everytime after the pass the straps are loose. I personally have a billet centerlink and my truck launches straight every single time

Also, wheel backspacing also has a big role in toe in. I could launch as hard as I could with my PYO's and 245's and it would be straight as an arrow, now with my 20's and a 4.5" BS, they toe in a little bit.

I went with the Ranchos 9000xl's for the front of mine havent tried it at the track yet but she launches great in church parking lots. :D I thought about the QA1's until i seen the price.

I have 6" of backspacing, what is the back spacing on PYO's? I think having wide, heavy ass tires and rims and launching hard are making it launch extremely violently

i have the EXAXT steering kit on my truck and she launches straight and true every time even with 37s. My only issue was keeping traction with close to bald 37 procomp extreme all terrains. Before this kit though, even with decranked t-bars and cognito braces with fabtech tie rods i couldnt boost over 12 psi before it got squirrly.

best vid i have of it launching

thats with a 2000 rpm launch at about 20 psi

Bingo, there is your problem..

Futher out from stock the more leverage it has on your steering parts.

I dont know what stock is but I would think it's close to 1"

stock backspacing is like 6.5" most aftermarket wheels are 4.5" the lower the number the farther out the stick.
