How big of a single can I run?

It can be done and can be drivable but you would hate it. Couple guys had gt4094r's on and spool up was way to long but drivable. Its not fun gettin spanked by something on the street because while your turbo is tryin to spool the other guy is long gone... just my :2cents:. If your going to use it for the strip only then thats a whole different ball game.

Good daily drivable chargers IMO is BD s300 64-71, Hitec 66-71, A4k, Industrial silver bullet and cheeta. You can make a A5k or 4094 work but wouldnt go much bigger on daily driver. 4294 would take alot of fuel to get spooled on the street.

It's all in the trans tuning. A big charger can be streetable, I'd put my truck against any GT40/S300 truck on the street. I just click it into T/H, RPM's jump up immediately and she's ready for dinner.

Just saying, if you're ready to go big turbo (74mm + ) - the support is there to make it driveable.

It's all in the trans tuning. A big charger can be streetable, I'd put my truck against any GT40/S300 truck on the street. I just click it into T/H, RPM's jump up immediately and she's ready for dinner.

Just saying, if you're ready to go big turbo (74mm + ) - the support is there to make it driveable.

Im sure he would get me, didnt say i would win. I love to race anything and anyone. we were to stop at a light and go he would be playing catch up. guarenteed. My truck is no slouch for 210k miles and stock cp3. Shes got more in here too. 12.4 was at 27 deg timing, stock cp3 and .041 jet.

Ill be in AZ for the DITD meet on Oct 4th Nick. Come on down.

Like i said in my first post, a BIG single can be done but it wont be fun. Always changin shift points, RPM's....... sounds like a race truck more than anything.

I would love to go big too and i prob will. I want to put the A5K on mine before the DITD meet. Already got my LMM modded cp3. just need to put it on.

I would love to get out to Diesels in the desert (win, lose, or draw :) )... It's just not going to happen. :(

Before we derail this thread too far though, we should make the point that spool boils down to

Exhaust Volume and heat/ Turbo size (roughly;))

To get more spool, either increase fuel, air, RPM or decrease the turbo size... oversimplified, but yeah - spool is relative... :D:hug:

Heres a possible really stupid idea... If you did have a huge charger that was hard to spool, and if you have it dumping ungoddly amounts of fuel in it, wonder if a shot of nitrous into the exhaust stream would insta-light it??? Would give all the unburnt hydrocarbon's an oxidizer to light back off with??? Lots of guys already put a shot into the engine to get them spooled, wonder if this would work better? Or turn it into a bomb? Could be a way to light it without a cylinder psi spike of actually burning the nitrous? Sorry, I have lots of time to think of stupid sh!t like this:D
