I ran a S475 and pushed 50+ psi with no issue. Paint94979s truck has run 11s with his 475 but don't know what he's pushing psi wise. I can tell you though a monster single isn't for everyone. That's why I'm running a S464 now.

I've been looking at the industrial injection silver 62 or 64 turbo i think the 66 would be too big for me right now, anyone know anything about these they have some good deals on them for black friday 20% off so basically the whole kit for $2300

Talk to Trent at EPR. Great customer service and honest guy. I personally would suggest going with the 64mm as I don't think the 62 would be worth the money. The 66mm is a tad big for some but since they both flow within a few lbs of each other I'd go with the 64

There are good deals out there on chargers this weekend. But honestly I would look into some better tuning to utilize the full potential of your stock IHI. But that's just me unless you find a deal that you can't pass up on.

i had a big set of twins with no studs, put a hole in my block and never had a HG problem.

x2 on Trent, good guy to work with. and if you go with a S4xx frame turbo you can always up grade down the road all the way up to a 80mm wheel.

an S466 would be an awesome turbo... if you are worried about too much boost run a wastegate and limit boost. i have seen 50psi plenty of times and no issues

He was just the owner of a performance place, i think he drives a dodge though, he just said i shouldn't put any bigger turbo than stock without headstuds

If you had an 01 or even 02 then i would say ok... but i wouldn't worry about it now. I had a GT4094 made 38psi ungated and i made roughly 100 passes on that setup ranging from 12.3-12.1 and never a problem with head gaskets. Today I run an S475 (3.0 inducer) which is a pretty decent size single and run 11's and still no issues with head gaskets. Listen to us guys that actually run these trucks with power not a Dodge guy;):D

It's not the size of the turbo you need to worry about...its the actual amount of boost. You can run just about any turbo as long as you wastegate it to a reasonable pressue for your stock heads.

Cuz they make way more powa:D

They actually had a different style head gasket that was not as good
Some people never had any issues even with them.

The gasket is superseded now

That's what I was thinking that they were different, I just haven't had a reason to pull mine off yet to see.

I have an 05 that has a blown HG. Stock turbo. Not sure how running more boost or bigger tunes to accommodate a bigger turbo is gonna not blow a HG. I thought the gasket type changed for the LBZ and up..... and all the 01-05 trucks have the same type.???

There are a lot of trucks out there running bigger turbos with stock head bolts and gaskets with no issues.
