What aftermarket trans cooler do you guys like best? Tranny has run a little warmer ever since the build which is excpected . But for some reason its running 220+ under normal driving now. Outside temp is about 90 down here already. Ideas?

By the title, I thought we were on HondaForums ...

Myself I thought we were on superdutyforums

Although your ambient temperatures are high ,I'd check out myself for slippage when the TC is locked. Are you seeing those temps with the AC running and Transmission with out the TC locked around town? Or TC locked and on the Interstate? They can get hot around town that is for-sure.

A larger cooler will help but not a cure for something wrong internal IF there is a problem.

Well aware of what forum I'm on fellas! This is in town with a/c on. I haven't seen this kind of heat before. There's about 25-30,000 miles on tranny and converter. Also about 12 passes at the track.

The old mans suncoast ran 235 when first installed 25,000 miles ago. I put in a Earls trans cooler after around 2,000 miles of it running those temps. Rarely does it get over 190 now. Not sure if any vendors on here sell this or not. I bought mine from summit racing for around $235.00. Install fairly simple just a couple of brackets you will need to fab.

Drain some fluid out of it. Temp shouldn't go up on a nuilt trans.

x2. Mine ran cooler after the build from mike. out here in our 110* heat in traffic with a/c full blast i never got over 200-210 on a stock cooler.

I've been running the Mike L cooler for many years now on our trucks with excellent results.

I was going to say the same thing about the fluid level. If it is too full it will puke out the vent tube right in front of the transfer case. I too am in the process of installing the mike L cooler. Waiting on some new fittings from mike. Thanks mike :D
