I'm just starting to shop for a tranny kit and when it says it can handle 600plus hp, is that to the crank or wheels? ppe is the only kit that says there hp rating to the crank.

My SCIII isn't supposed to hold 600hp but it does. So maybe their ratings are just being safe.
Maybe you're just gifted.
Naa..just lucky according to everyone... but, I have seen other people lucky too
We need to dial in Casper shortly, then test at higher power levels. At 750+ rwhp, Mike L's trans in Casper proved to be bomb-proof. Never found the limit. Hopefully, I'll get it up to 900+ and test next month to see.
But one thing I do know is that automatics used for racing, especially heavy vehicles, do not last forever, but neither do manuals in general. Even 500rwhp will eventually wear our Allisons down after a while. It took about 500 passes to wear out the Suncoast/Mike L trans in Blue. Add power and reduce the passes.
Then you can tell people you rebuild the trans every 125 miles or so.....
I'm confused, was it you or your buddy that argued for pages that a Level 3 wouldn't hold a "big 500hp tune"?
You should try and calm down. I was just throwing a little humor in there.
