I want an efi tune for my LBZ for some serious MPG's.

Truck is LBZ cc/lb/2wd and runs the eway alot.
Also the truck uses the Snow MPG/Max h20/meth injection.

The best MPG's I've seen so far was 27, and I want better.

Tune would only be used when running the eway without a trailer. Anyone have any thoughts/pointers?

better then 27 jeez greedy are we lol. put a 40-94 on there and cruz at or below 60 mph at 55 i bet you could hit 30 mpg. you could make a super low boost tune with the vvt but it would suck to drive.

Man I'd fall asleep at 59mph. One of these days I'm going to try it for a few hundred miles.

My 27mpgs was cruise set at 70.

I was coming back from Toronto before winter, about 350-400 miles, not using the cruise doing 72-73 for most of the way thru canada and where I could thru Detroit got 23mpgs on that ride.

Just think an efi tune might let me keep the cruise at 70 at maybe hit 30mpgs with the h20/meth.

ahhhh see you left some of the story out lol if your useing water meth you can dial it in some omore with efi but still 30 mpg at 70+ id have to see it to belive it even 27 mpg is pretty impresive. so how many miles did you go on one tank of fuel when you did 27 mpg ?

I put the meth in the first post.....

I'd have to check my records to tell you exacts, but I know on a recent trip I went from just north of Montgomery, AL to home in Albion, MI on the factory tank 34 gallons without adding any diesel. Thats what 800+miles. Hit the eway and didnt stop only 2 time to top off the meth tank. It was also all in one day, so no idling, no cold start, no stop and go driving

Yea, I cant wait for the tax man to want to put the road tax on my water use.

OK, so far I have:
Open the vanes,
Maybe a low boost tune (is this one needed? I'm pretty good at not getting on it when I want some MPG's, and I can usually keep the boost in the single digits. Remember this tune is for a 2wd LBZ, after delivering a trailer, a few miles to the eway then home, all eway usually no stop and go city driving with no load/trailer)

I know nothing about efi, yet, so anything that would help the MPG's let me know. Thanks

Just to clarify, I didn't zero out all the vane tables. I cruised down the road, observed fuel mainrate at different speeds and noticed that it generally doesn't go above 35mm^3 once you are up to speed and if you drive easy, this is in Michigan where there aren't any hills :D. So I kept lowering vane position until no boost was achieved cruising. Tha vanes position taper back up once mainrate goes above 40MM^3 and rpm above 2000. This has worked good for me so far, and when you get on it there isn't much lag in spool-up of the turbo.

so how much w/m do you use on the eway/mile??? cost associated with that???

That is some DAMN impressive numbers... I've never gotten more than 21.x mpg on the interstate with tuning (albeit, the tuning was race tuning and not MPG specific tuning although my race tunes have always done better than lower powered tunes). Probably 50% of my daily commute is interstate at 70ish MPH, and my avg. for the last couple of months has been hovering around 15mpg. :( Winter fuel, cold weather warm ups, and need for some maintenance aren't helping that at all.

Lifetime avg. since I've had the truck is mid 17mpg.

7gallon tank is going 300 ish miles. Depends on injection rate.

Meth costs me $160 for 55gallons. About $3 per gallon. mix it down to 30 percent its about $1 per gallon

so for the cost of about 3 gallons of fuel, you extend your mileage 25% or more? Impressive... didn't take long to pay that system off and start saving money at a rate like that. Very cool!

I thought about putting it on the van too. but I don't think I'd see the same gains. the van is my daily driver/errand runner/work truck. A lot of stop and go around town 10-15 minute trips, etc. I don't inject the meth for the first 5-10 minutes or the last 5-10 minutes.

I think I'm seeing great gains using it on the truck because it usually gets started, short warm up, then eway for the day. I've been known to put on 1000 miles or more in a day. so the truck is purring down the eway at what 1600-1700 rpm with a drizzle of meth helping it out.

I bet a propane or CNG setup would yield similar returns... would be interesting to put the numbers to it and see which would end up saving you the most $$$ over time - the W/M inj. or maybe propane or CNG. Guess that would really depend on price of propane or CNG in your area.

i thought i was doing damn good with 24 on my rclb...besides meth inj. is there anything else your doing?

Im not sure how long imma stay on this PPE since all three trucks need a tune, our LMM is sucking diesel like my tractor does only 17.1mpg :(
