For 6 years, the combo of 3150-3300 pw + 28-32 deg peak timing + 30-32 PSI boost has been a proven combo for a stock charger truck.

AFAIK, this is how all the "500HP Class" tunes are built.

It's the timing that reduces the EGT.

This formula was known before EFILive hit the scene, but it took EFILive to comfirm it on a dyno. Before EFILive, the additional timing had to be added with a harness box, but you can't "see" timing or fuel added with a harness box.

Sidebar - Big Blue never ran quicker or faster with EFILive than it did stacking tuners. The HP curves looked very similar. What does this mean? Given enough time on a dyno, you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear ... :D

Bad tuning(or just being a jackass to the truck) an big pw breaks motors not just big pw I ran a 3250 pw with 29-30* timing for couple years with zero issues an that was racing sled pulling an some street time turn it up to at least to 2900 pw around 26-27 * timing it'll run good an be just fine you'll break 13's I would think

In my not so humble opinion, the cylinder pressure and temp are what destroy engines. Like others said it's only for a 1/4 mile, and I wonder how much the piston heats up during a 12-15 second pass. If you were loading like that for any real amount of time like towing or something like land speed racing a catastrophe would be certain. (I'm sure pat may have some insight as to what it takes to keep engines together doing that)

I may try to up the pw to 2900 and add timing. ..if I wouldn't have been asleep at the tree I could have shaved a few .10s off my time and if I would have launched a bit harder the 2nd time around around I could have done a 14.0 or 13.9 ..just can't be a whimp I guess LOL

if i was you i would no doubt run 2800pw with added timing... for 4 years i've ran 3300pw big timing and bigger to big turbos no ill effects so far? knock on wood

stock trans still Wes? :D

That would be a big hell yeah ... :D

I'm surprised it's lasted this long. Couple dozen low to mid 13 passes, god knows how many burnouts, even on the 38's and she still locks up. It's definitely getting a little looser though.

My biggest tune is a 3100pw with 32* timing, ran a 13.3@105 with it. Stock trans, lift pump, exhaust and tune.

Every pre canned tune out there that's making big power has at least a 3100 us on their big tunes. PPE runs at 3250 and 32 degrees of timing on their level ten tune.
