Hey so just checking in. I'm an LS1/SBC guy for the most part. Right now I have a 73 k5 blazer that's got a 350/th400/np203/14bff front and rear. I'm in the market for a tow rig /DD, or at least I will be in about 6 months. I'm going on deployment so I'll be saving some coin for a down payment and paying off the wife's 13 JK. So I'm just looking for some insite as far as preferences of engine and mods are concerned. I will be updating my profile and signature once I get a chance.

Welcome and thanks for your service. LBZ is best choice for a robust truck that's easy to mod and will be a good dd, but they're all good trucks. Just find something that's not thrashed and you'll be good.

Thanks. Yeah finding something under 80k and unmalested between 04 - 10 are my big stipulations i test drove an 08 last week and was surprised how much I liked it with the exception of how ridiculously quite it was. But nothin a DPF delete and exhaust couldn't fix. I forgot to mention I am planning on moving back to CA eventually so any mods I do that will readily fail the visual I would like to be fairly reversible. Such as the DPF. I don't think at a glance anyone would notice the EGR block. But that's easy too.
