Maybe its just me, but over the past couple of months my 1057 seems to have loosened up a bit; ie, when its unlocked it doesnt feel as aggressive as I remember when I first built the trans 65,000 mile ago...

But like I said maybe its just me?? Is it possible for a converter to wear out? Broken vane on the turbine or primary pump?

Once locked it doesnt show any noticible slip with the tech 2.

but then on a good note, I have no 3-4 bang. :p:D

here are two videos. The videos are with a medium-big tune, not quite my race tune though. I have a bunch of stuff in the bed so its probably around 7,700 lbs. The "converter unlocked" video is accellerating at maybe 1/2-3/4 throttle. The WOT video was in tow/haul mode, but the converter wasnt locked yet, thats why it is a little goofy for the first second. It locks at the top of 2nd just barely before it shifts into third and then you can see my smooth 3-4 and 4-5.

the check engine light is probably a MAF code; I get them every once in a while.

its a stock cluster with an escalade trim bezel on it. I got it for free but normally they are like 60 dollars IIRC.

2005+ escalade "platinum edition". The 03-04 escalade bezels will work, except they are a brushed silver, and not shiny chrome rings like mine.

thanks mike :D

I mean it still couples, just feels really loose, and the shifts just mush together. At the track I can stall it easilly up to 2800rpm, maybe more. Its not a trans issue because as you can see in the video it shifts perfectly once the converter clutch is locked.

My 1057 does the exact same thing, If you tell Ron that it stalls that high he will tell you to send it to him....He is a great guy and will help you out

anyone else with a 1057 get a chance to look at the videos? :(

ive noticed the same thing with mine-kinda like its slipping more even though its not-seems to rev higher
and theres more of a difference in tow haul mode than before right?
maybe its just worn out?
i did notice that my trans temps do seem a little higher too

My 1057 doesn't act anything like that. That is not good.

I haven't even seen a blown out stock converter act like that.

Hopefully, Suncoast will come through for you Ben.

Ron said it looked normal, he said if one of the fins was worn or broken, there would be lots of metal noise etc..

Im not doubting him at all, but it just seems different than I remember it being a long time ago. I didnt mention that I could stall it up to 2800rpm or so, but he said from the videos it looks fine.

also when I accellerate at about 3/4 throttle from a stop, when I get to 60mph or so in 5th gear, unlocked it hangs on the converter at around 3,000 rpm, and then the converter locks and sucks the engine down to about 1800rpm or so, so theres a pretty big rpm drop at lockup.

regardless, Im just going to keep driving it as-is, I dont have any $ to refresh the converter anyways.

Why did the CEL come on at about 70mph? If it was my truck it would have been a 1093 which often comes on after a shift.

maf code. I have NO fuel pressure problems. My factory original CP3 seems stronger than most. I can easilly hold 21,500-22,000psi all the way down the track at 3250-3300us.
