cool!! Good find John!!!

Basically this is exactly what GM has done starting in 2003 on the GMT-800 trucks and SUV's; having a central BCM and various 'nodes' networked with it over the class 2/J1850 data bus. From the 2002 to the 2003 model year on the GMT-800's (when they had the mid-cycle-enhancment and went to the data-bussed central body control system) I think they cut out way over 100 feet of wiring from the truck...not to mention all the neat capabilities that wouldnt be possible without a data bus system, such as linking a different set of radio presets to the "driver 1" and "driver 2" memory settings, etc...

Probably a little expensive for the average hotrodder, but definitely neat and if I had the money, I wouldnt hesitate for a second, using one of those widgets in a build.

Price really is pretty good. Take my 66 Nova project for example. Just a body harness costs $505. I would still need a dash harness. Then you figure all the cool options the Can Bus setup gives you like the programable lights on after shut off. Pro fan controls. I think it is pretty competitive.
