Ok.... as you all probably have read I have a 4094vnt from Dan and PPE. I am just getting around to installing today. I thought someone said this is a 6 hour job:rofl: ... maybe 6 hours off, then 6 back on

Any how, I am putting a BD manifold and diamond eye down pipe on at the same time. I have injector tips but they will be installed later, unless it keep raining here.

I have EVERYTHING off EXCEPT............. both coolant lines that go to the turbo, the oil drain tube and two of the bolts that hold the turbo to the block on the driver side.

1) I will ask the stupid question first......... I know you have to drain some coolant out to change the turbo,...... where is the drain cock at or how do you drain the coolant with out pullin a hose off?????????????????????

2) how do you get to the two driverside 17mm bolts that mount the turbo to the block? No magic please, I'm not very good at magic:D

3) how do you get to the coolant lines at the turbo? You can see them and you can see the top one pretty good but the fuel rail lines are in the way?

4 and last) How in the H*LL do you get to the oil drain tube bolts??????????

Gotta date with the wife to go to a movie. I will be back around 10pm central time to check posts and chat with people.

thanks in advance for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:happy2:

There is a drain cock on the passenger side of the radiator close to the bottom. Leave the coolant lines on at the turbo and take them off at the other ends.

To take out the turbo mounting bolts I use a wobble extension. You can also use a swivel socket and maybe just a universal between the socket and extension.

Leave the drain tube attached to the turbo, take the 2 nuts off that hold the drain tube to the rear of the block/bellhousing.

That was exactly what I was needing!!!!!!!!!!!:D Thanks! Only thing that was different is mine didn't have a coolant drain. I took the 1" hose off the coolant tank and let it drain into a bucket. This was enough that none came out of the lines at the turbo.

I've got about 10 hours of work time in BD manifold, turbo swap and DE down pipe. Not bad for the first time. With all this great info on here it makes it easy,........... well........... as easy as changing a dmax turbo can get:D

Thanks again

Kev

Pics will be posted in my other thread with stock and 4094avnt comparisons.
