Can you put any tire with 11.50 width on 16" aluminium pyos? Or should i keep my choice on the 275/55/16 M&H radial.

any input/results having wider tires for the track on a 620-700 whp trucks?

Well, people put 285/75/16s on PY0s all the time, and those have 11.2" section width, but slicks are a different animal.

What tires are you thinking about using?

Maybe ET street from MT... they are 30$ cheaper per tire, and 28x11.50. The recommendation width of rim if far for the reality of the 16 pyos.

I think 16" pyos are 6.5 wide?

Does cheater slick are more effective than drag radials like M&H?

you really need to widen your PYO and for the most part its very expensive to have the wheels widened. 6.5 wide doesnt cut it.

I can't remember the whole rule of thumb, but in essence, within an inch for tire to rim width. If there is more sidewall, you can stretch the tire more, but not by much. Having a rim thinner than the tire will give a better ride, as the sidewall will flex more, but the rim float side to side inside the tire during turning.

The most I pushed was I ran a 33x12.50x15 on a 15x8 rim. When measured with a tape, the tire was 12'' wide, the inner bead was just under 10". This is over the 1 inch, but I had 8 inches of sidewall, and this was an offroad tire, on something that never saw 80 mph.

I don't know if there is a difference for slicks, and drag radials.

anyone know an aftermarket company who does racing wheel for 8 lug truck? Something lighter or as light as pyo?

Maybe its impossible too since low market for this application.

Do a search for rock crawling rims. 90% of the rock guys run the old 8 lug pattern, and the rim's are limitless. They may be heavier than your looking for, but some of the one's I am looking at look light and strong.

A site I would recommend for looking, not for buying, is polyperformance there are quite a few options and should give you a good idea what other options you have available.
