I know the dealer can do it for the BOSE....

Seems like I remember having the other vehicles VIN makes it easier, but it can still be done?

But not trying to whore your thread, but in the chance someone knows...
Can they unlock a MP3/WMA Cd player out of a Colorado?

This one?

I put it in, plugged it in, and it said lock or whatever, but came on, and took it to the dealer to have it programmed along with my steering wheel controls, they claimed it was impossible, (they also claimed that of the steering wheel controls, but I knew how to do that one), and wound up charging me an extra hr of labor for putting the stocker that was in the back seat back in and programming it to the controls.

Last time I looked, TIS did not offer programming support for swapping the Colorado MP3 radios into our trucks. Honestly, it wouldnt be all the difficult for GM to tweak the Colorado program to work for our trucks, but they wont do it.

As for the Bose radio, I take it you are switching from a single disc to a 6disc? If you dont have Bose right now, you'll have to program the radio to non-Bose.

Post the radio part number and if you currently have Bose or notand I'll run the program trees for you.

No kidding?!? You've never said anything about it until now. This is cool.

Ben, whats the TIS program for it? Did the guy have to run the programming thru the Colorado VIN to access it? How did he account for the Bose system?

as far as I know, just go through TIS normally (using a silverado VIN), and select the radio part number of the colorado MP3 radio...then do everything normally.

Im not 100% sure there is bose software available for it. The guy I know who has it [the mp3 radio] in his EC/SB 2500 gasser is non-Bose...I would have to log into TIS to see what the available options are.

Thanks for the info guys. Got it unlocked this week. Friend of mine works at the Pontiac GMC locally, he hooked me up with one of the service guys that unlocked it for $30. Got my radio unlocked and meet a good guy that maybe of assistance in the future.
