Help understanding sizing

Havent delt much in truck wheels/tires as im familar to car stuff

I dont quite get what backspacking is, and offset on car wheels vs truck wheels shouldnt be any different right?

anyone have just a short explanation of truck wheel stuff?

Back spacing is the distance from mounting surface to backside lips and offset is the amount that it is offset from center line.

so wouldnt offset and backspacing be almost the same deal? I know off set is kind of where the hub part of the wheel sits, so negative offsett gives you more lip and make wheels stick out more vs positive gives less of a lip and sticks in further
