LB7: HELP Timing Cover Seal

I got my new seal .Got the seal puller and the seal installer.
My question is if you need to put ant type of sealer on the inside of the seal (the inner metal ring the connects to the crank)Where i am concerned about is between the inner metal part of the seal and the crank. I asked the stealership and they said they had never put one in before so they didn't know.

No you don't have to use a sealer.

Just use a little motor oil around the inner and outer edges of the seal so it slides in easier.

thanks guys i new somebody here would know. I'm hoping the seal will fix it cause there was oil running out from below the balancer but once i pulled it off it looked dry above it

The front cover is sealed to the block with RTV, and the front main seal is not installed until after the front timing cover is in place. The only other seal I can think of is the small o-ring that seals the block to the front cover at the oil gallery where the oil pressure relief valve is installed in the front cover.
