:confused:What causes the truck to make the " RUNG RUNG RUNG" sound when you are coming to a stop? It does for about 2-3 seconds and then clears up. I changed the fuel filter also, I just put some power service and 2 stroke oil in at last fill up hoping that it would clear it up. I have about 30 miles with the power service in this tank and it still does it. The filter has about 11000-12000 miles on it could it be that?

Please help DIESEL GODS

I have torn down some pumps before and the cleanest pump i have ever seen the owner sayed he has run automatic transmission threw it since the truck was new. It was a vp44 with 260,000 miles on it. It was the orginal pump. So out of the longtivity he got outta it i have ran ATF sinse truck was new.

Are we talking about "romping", which is the truck hunting for idle?

Well Pat, I guess you can say that. It does it when I am coming to a stop and the engine rpm's are dropping down to return to idle, it does this sound which is like the regular idle sound only, more pronounced and it only does for a couple of seconds, then it smooths itself out. I have already put a new filter on 500 miles ago but, it still does it.
I was wondering if the shim mod would help this problem since I am running the hypertech tuner and because the rail pressure is altered from the tuner this would cause it. I haven't tried going back to stock to see what happens, but maybe I will.

Ok i beilve i may have a idea of what u are talking about now. Are u saying that when u are coming down in speed that when your truck is suppose to ideal it acts as if its going to stall.

Or When its suppose to be at ideal the motor lopes a little before it cacths its self?

I am wondering if it is the normal sound a Dmax makes when return to idle. the motor sounds different for a few seconds after you stab it and the engine is returning to idle.

I don't believe the Hypertech alters rail pressure...Is the sound coming from under the hood or out of the tailpipe?

Moved into here...

Could it be something to do with the vanes on the turbo changing position as the engine throttles down?

My truck did this after the Modded Cp3. I know exactly what your truck is doing and it is fuel related. It is cause by too much rail pressure. If you have acess to EFI or a tech 2 it will help alot. You need to see what your rail pressure is doing.

How many miles are on the truck?
