Well I decided to take the TT Blazer out to the inlaws for spring break. Long story short I have fuel comming out of the breather all over the underside and back of my truck it idles rough and was no oil showing on the dipstick.
I took the oil cap off while running and its got some pressure. Did the injectors or some of them take a shit? Can I replace them and replace the oil and the blowby is caused by the fuel washing the oil off the cyls?
If I need injectors has anyone got some LB7s they arent gonna use Im desperate and stuck 700 miles from home

Shit I say. ok so Im gonna run a comp test, if its got good comp and no hole in the piston then I replace the injector. Im wondering if the blowby will go away with fresh oil and no fuel? has anyone been so lucky?
BTW what causes the injectors to crack?

My LB7 did the same thing, blew oil out the breather under the hood and all over the place. I don't think I would call it blow by, its just pumping your crank case full of fluid with no place to go. I am going to take a guess and say your oil pressure gauge is close to zero? If you need to limp it home or somewhere to work on it I would drain the oil pan and put fresh oil in, that will buy you a bit of time. My 10 quart pan had 5 gallons in it. It shows no oil on the stick probably because it is so thin with fuel.

HMMMM it showed no oil on the stick so I bought the three qts of oil at a station and limped it gently at 1200 to 1800 rpm another 100 miles.
Id say it ran for 250 miles this way and oil pressure is 20 psi to 38 @ 1400 rpm ish. no knocking from bottom end but if I can rplc 1 injector change the oil and get back home Ill change it out to the LLY I have at home

How much farther do you have to drive? I would buy a pan and drain it all and replace it all. Did you buy or build this blazer? You have to pull the valve covers to get to the injectors. I ran my truck for like 2 days with fuel in the crank case.

now with balance rates

I have to go 700 miles to get home. Im at the mther inlaws. I built it all myself yet this is my first real diesel exerience. #5 cyl balance rate is @ 2.67 and the rest are all -0.2 to -1.68 avg. I feel like im new to the car game again with diesels.

OK so I got more info as Im testing and reading.
1 I noticed raw diesel comming from the slip joints in my exhaust.
2 I shut off injectors one at a time to see if I would find one that does nothing and they all make the engin drop rpm and shake more.
Im scared to keep runing it to test for fear of making the lower end worse.
I brought all my tools with me cause some friends wanted some svc work done on thier cars. What else can I test? im doing a comp test in the am when there is light in the driveway. Oh and it seems to have no loss of power or missfire under load with part throttle

I would call AAA or find a friend/relative that you trailer it for you. Time to replace your injectors it sounds like to me. I don't think a comp. test will give you anymore viable info but I may be wrong. Anythings worth a shot at this point. Where are you located?

No AAA . Nobody I know can foot he bill nor tow. and im in a financial bind.
A comp test will tellme if I burned a hole in a piston.
thank you all for the input and keep it commin

Where are you? I wonder if you have a return line under the valve cover leaking? The no knocking thing has me baffled:confused:
I am wondering the same thing. Im in Chatsworth California right now. I did do head studs before the twins. I think the comporession test wil tell me wether im gonna go farther tomorrow. The funny thing s the fuel comming out of the exhaust. Im escared its a hole in a piston:(

I'm pretty sure you'd have blown oil on everything including all the cars behind you if you had a hole in a piston. I've seen leaky injectors cause raw fuel in the exhaust. I've also seen diesel engines do just as gasers in respect to passing crankcase oil/gas by and fouling plugs. Ultimately passing raw gas into the exhaust system. Not sure if you already know what cylinder/s may be causing trouble but, you can remove the glow plugs and see which ones are wet and also crank the engine over to see which one may shoot your fender wells wet.

Too bad you weren't closer or I'd be happy to help. Check around this board and see if anyone close to you can give you a hand.

Lots of luck and have a safe trip home.

Five gallons in the crank case and more to come , I need another buckett

not the return lines

8 gallons in the crank case. no lines loose on the passenger side and come to think of it I dont think a loose return would make one cyl missfire at idle since its a common return line.. Anyone gots some usable injectors?
