Help me understand amps and subs

I am trying to understand what size amp I need. I am either going to run two JL 13.5 TW5 subs or two JL W6v2 subs. Both have a power handling of 600 rms 1200 peak. The w6 are 4 ohm DVC and the tw5 are 3 ohm SVC I believe. Now since the w6 are DVC can I wire them to create a 4 ohm or 2 ohm load? If I wire them to be 4 ohm does that mean I need a bigger amp to get 600 rms than I would if I wired them to be a 2 ohm load? If I have an amp that puts out 600w rms @ 2 ohms do both subs get 600 or do they get 300 each? The tw5 are 3 ohm SVC so it can only be wired one way right? So they would create a 1.5 ohm load? I would appreciate any help you can give me. If any of you have any experience with these subs let me know what you think.
Thanks
Nate

the JL W6v2 is a dual 4-ohm voice coils and are the better sounding sub. With that said I would find a good 4ohm amp that has the RMS the same or more RMS watts as you can just turn down the amp and it will sounds better and not get as hot. I would look at running them at 4 ohm to do that with 2 dual 4-ohm voice coil subs you need to run them like this.

Click here if you cant see the pic

Also get a D-Class Mono amp for the subs not a 2-channel

The W6 is a better sub. If you run the JL recommended amp you should run that series-parallel setup as shown by MadMaxx61. Most newer amps are stable down to 1 Ohm, but for longevity, you would be better off running at 4. I run them in my '08. All of the speakers will get the same current. Example: You run a 400 watt amp and all of the subs will see the same power in the circuit.

I agree with MadMaxx61. Run the DVC subs in series to a monoblock amp. Cleaner / better sound if the power output of the amp is right. Not sure about these particular subs as i haven't stayed up on the stuff the past few years, but JL always seemed to make good stuff in the past.

Im thinking about getting the memphis mclass mojo 2500w amp. Think this will work good? I really like memphis stuff. Heres the specs:
RMS Power 4 Ohm(w) : 625W x 1
RMS Power 2 Ohm(w) : 1250W x 1
RMS Power 1 Ohm(w) : 2500W x 1
Bridged Mono Power 4 Ohm (w) : N/A
THD % 4 Ohm : 0.50%
Frequency Response : 20Hz - 650Hz
Dimensions (in) 7.77 x 2.24 x 24.80"

You think the 10" w6 will be louder than the 13.5 tw5? I heard the tw5 and they sounded louder than my 2 10" memphis M3 in my last truck.

They will be louder, apples to apples, do to increased surface area. They do not last as long. The W5 will die quickly if you run the amp you mentioned.

6.5/6.75 IIRC. I use the Outfit my car thing on Crutchfield. BTW, I meant the 13.5 would be louder but they don't hold up as long or sound as clear.
