i have a rattle that sounds like a engine heat or brake rotor shield. it happens when i am coming to a stop from about 8-2 mph. i have tried to find where it is coming from but cant see or feel anything that is loose, and it doesnt do anything when stopped. i hope someone has had this problem and figured it out it is extremely embarasing.

just to clarify the rattle sounds like a exhaust heat shield that is loose and is vibrating against another piece of metal. like a really high speed rattle no banging or clicking or anything like that.
is that what your pitman/idler problem sounded like?

There is a heat shield type thing on the side of the trans....check that. Drove me nuts for months befor I found it. Every time I put it on a lift to check it wouldn't do it lol
