HELP! Gauges stopped working

today as i was driving to work my truck randomly had the security light come on. So I looked down and my fuel level was on E (still had half a tank)and the temp gauges all had stopped working. My speedometer and Tachometer still worked as well as my oil pressure and voltmeter. The message display center said, security, service 4wd, low fuel and low oil pressure. All of this just came on at once. So I am guessing that it is some sort of electrical thing. on my Edge insight everything was reading where it should. I did get EFI live put on about 2 months ago and have had the security light randomly come on 2-3 times. But when i turn my truck off and then back on it resets it and all is good. But this seems like something different.

I have already checked all the fuses and they are good. I've read that it may be the ignition switch? anyone had this happen to them? what can I look at to get it diagnosed. or what solutions have you guys had?

I had very similar issues as you and posted about it here. I was directed to check out the ground on the driver's side frame rail. Took off that ground, cleaned the area and got a good metal to metal contact. Fixed all the issues and haven't had trouble in months. From what I read it's a pretty common issue.

Thanks! I was going to check all the grounds and connections today! I will check it out and see if that fixes it.

Guessing its an 01-02 truck. Something is crashing your data bus. Could be a ground to one of the onbpard modules causing it to lose power and pull the data bus to 0 volts.
