i'm building a tow tune for a buddy with a lly , got the fuel tables and timing and everything else done and it drives great but want to add some boost is it best to increase the desired boost tables or the vain position tables, i would think desired boost is just a reference but need some help, i will be finishing the tune tomarrow in the vain posistion table i am asuming increasing % means more boost but less exaust flow would i be fine just adding 5 % ? tune is a mild tow tune

i have no way to measure the drive pressure. maybe just a general decrease in vain position opening the vains a bit more to create less restriction?

You should play with vane pos,The drive pressure from just adding to des boost is very high

is this a concern when adding small amounts , the tune i just did i only added 20 % aka 1-2 psi on the bottom 20 mm3 and 4-5 psi 100 mm3 at the top, drove great after is this still a concern or only high amounts of change ?

IMO its a concern when stock,is it going to kill the turbo? NO,but is it good for it and your motor?

isnt the vain tables just a referance? meaning that it uses the target number as a base line and adjust off that dependant on the actual map readings. at full boost 32 psi i am basinlining at 45% and my max is the same also. i guess i'll have to log the vain position to see where i am at. it hits the boost no problem at all. i'll log it and adjust it until it changes the spool up time.

target doesnt seem to change much, max does

leave the boost alone for now and adjust your max vane table while attemting to maintain the same boost

A DP gauge would speed up this process:)
