I'm new to the site and a first time Diesel owner,Not new to diesels tho,
I was a medium duty truck and bus mechanic for most of my adult life,now Union millwright. My experience is with the 6.2l GM and 6.9 & 7.3L fords.

Very informative site. I have ? on a ticking noise in my lb7 almost sounds like wrong valve lash but kinda solid tho where should I start. thanks for the site and the help.

Welcome!!! Check the balance rates on the injectors. Could be the infamous duramax tick too??? Good luck with it, lots of experienced guys here, you will get the help you need.

Hello an Welcome, In my humble opinion if the engine has never been worked on, it's no the valve they usually say put, it is most likely the injectors ticking, If the motor has been apart it could be the valves weren't adjusted correctly, 0.12 is the lash setting.
