Hello my name is Chris from northern ohio. Thought I'd take some time and introduce myself formally on here. 20 years old and willing to learn anything and everything with these trucks. This forum is a great resource and I want to thank all of you who contribute to it. I work as a mechanic and have been for some years now. Diesels are new to me though. Gassers in my mind make perfect sense and I can diagnose and properly fix almost anything on those. Now that I finally bought a duramax it gives me an increased thirst to learn more about them and how to properly build and get this engine and trans combo to perform as best as they can. I'd appreciate some critiquing on my current setup. Week spots and if I'm on the right track. Any input would be great. Money is limited for now but I plan on different upgrades in the future. My current setup is a 2005 Chevrolet LLY. Extended cab 4x4. 207,000 miles. Only had the truck for the last 2000 miles. Not sure if anything has been replaced in the past as far as injectors. The previous owner used it for towing and put 70k miles on it in the last 8 months before I bought it. He traded it in for a brand new dually at the local dealership. Here are the things I've done to it.
-Sinister EGR delete kit with the free flowing intake tube
-S&B turbo mouth piece
-PVC re-route
-AEM cold air intake
-cut cat-converter out and 4" straight piped it back w/5 inch tip
-edge CTS juice with attitude and unlocked tune 6
-merchant automotive pump rub kit
Any tips or pointers on other upgrades? Or things I went wrong on. I know you all will say efi live haha Trans is stock as far as I know. I was thinking about shimming the frpr or ppe race valve?
