I am asking in respect to the interchangeability of ACDelco 15-81646 and 15-81647 blower motors

Cj3 is manual Hvac controls
Cj2 is auto Hvac controls
C42 is ac delete with heavy duty heater

According to AC Delco's website the only difference is

15-81646 works on 2003-2007

15-81647 works on 99-2007

So are you saying they are interchangeable on the 03-07? Is there a difference in the motor or the fan?

I know on my dad's 04 and my 06 they twist into place so if another member has an 01 or 02 that they could check then we would know for sure.

I'm not sure on your body style but for 01-07 it's probably the easiest Hvac part to change out. Remove 3 screws holding the black plastic cover above where the passengers feet are, unplug the harness, twist out the old assembly and twist the new one in.

My 06 twists into place. I'm only trying to figure out if one moves significantly more air than the other. I'm trying to improve my defrosting / defogging air movement. The proper one for my WT with AC is the 15-81646. I am trying to find somebody with AC delete that has the 15-81647 I can compare with

Does anybody have RPO code C42 who can take some measurements for me, otherwise I'll just order one off amazon and do some measuring.

The heavy duty heater probably refers to a bigger heater core since there is no a/c. I don't think the motors are any different.

Just got off the phone with ac delco, the guy said that 15-81647 included a "shield" and that 646 did not. He did say that they were the same and would interchange. He didn't know what kind of shield it was nor could he find a picture of it. I'm gonna assume it's the black plastic piece that covers the area under the glovebox, which wouldn't fit with the larger heater core

Running the A/Cwith the defroster on blast will work best:thumb:
Thats what I ended up doing and it helped , was trying not to open the windows though cause the wind was filling up the truck with snow and the seat and my lap were getting soaked
