So I got me some good ole' tow mirrors for the truck and they do have the heated option. I think that the wires are there in the harness that goes to the mirror, but I was wondering what it would take for me to make them work. I have an empty switch in my homemade panel that I could use. Any ideas?

I added heated tow mirrors to my 2001 just over a year ago. I found the wires are already in the door mirror harness. The wiring diagram shows the relay & switch as part of the heater control head, which makes sense because the LT Chevy & SLT GMC with heated back glass also have heated mirrors.

Today I had some free time. So I pulled the heater control head out of the wife's 2001 Yukon(has heated back glass & mirrors). Swapped it into my truck, and now my heated mirrors work!

All you need is a heater control head with rear defrost switch. 100% plug & play.

If you have the rear window defogger the harness is ready for the heated mirrors. 2003 and up gm trucks are also wired for signal mirrors. Its all plug and play
