Help: Heater Hose Q-Connector Broke

Hey guys....A little help please....Plastic connector to the heater core snapped off and i had to do some "Magyver Tricks" to get home....

Went to auto zone and bought the parts and also had to pay to borrow the removal tool but i cant get it to pop off the fitting....I dont want to break anything but they are not budging.

Is there some video somewhere or pictures on how to get these off.....thanks for everyones input.....

The auto zone tool must be "altered" or modified to actually work. Get your self a little better set of disconnects. This set cost me 25 bucks on Craigslist and its a decent name brand. It's the 5/8" one you need IIRC. The green one in this pic is the one. It has a 45deg so it's easier to fit and pull back.

You need a new driver side motor mount. Mine snapped off too because my motor could twist too far because of the broken motor mount. I completely took the stupid plastic fittings off and just got longer heater hose and ran them straight onto the aluminum outlet pipes of the heater core and just hose clamped them on. Never had an issue and now I don't need to worry about them breaking again. I also replaced my motor mount...

Exact same thing happend to me. Engine was flexing so much it pushed my hot pipe right into that fitting and snapped it. Coolant EVERYWHERE it was such an Fing mess.

I always buy a spare of those connectors. Soon as ya fix one, the other breaks!

You'll need the disconnect tool these guys are talking about to snap it off the hose to the heater core. Then dig the old broke piece out of the rubber hose. Then take the new connector and push it on the heater core tube. It will be a pain in the ass if it's anything like my trucks lol. Then push the hose back on.

Here's the disconnect tool, and part number. I'd buy one just to have. They're cheap.
