i would go with 5000k or 4500k anything above that and your losing a little brightness. i have 4500k and like it alot. but if really want the blueish color dont go any higher than 6000k because after that its starts to get purpleish. im def not fav of purple on truck sorry

I am getting ready to order some HID's for my truck. You guys have 35 watt or 55 watt in your fogs? The dealer I am getting them from says 55 watt is ok for GMC fogs and they will not melt. I am not sure if I believe him though.

IMO the best improvement if you want more light for seeing is to either buy or make your own booster that gets 12volt direct for you alternator and also all 4 on at the same time.

I did this year ago on my truck and it's night and day. I went the more expensive route but worth every penny as it was a simple plug and play. No soldering no splicing no nothing and it looks OEM. So any bulb you use even stock ones should benefit from the additional voltage. When I bought mine it came with Phillips Rally I believe 55watt lows and 100watt highs for sure. Unfortunately these bulbs aren't DOT legal and no longer available which blows! I was fortunate to order extras so I have or should have enough to last for a long time! IMO these are the best plus with the harness having all 4 on at the same time is crazy bright.

I bought my harness at Kennedy Diesel not sure on the availability on new trucks.
